Common Diseases
What are we protecting you from?
Often we are asked, "What are infectious contaminants," and "where are they found?" Quite simply, they are everywhere and anywhere we are. Humans have been living with these organisms since the dawn of time, yet their evolution and lethality have continually progressed due to a number of factors. New strains are discovered each day, and the exponential rate of mutation far surpasses our ability to combat them! An average antibiotic takes 7-10 years to bring to market...by then, the targeted disease has mutated and is resistant to the new drugs!
Does this mean there is no solution? No. There is a solution. It is to PREVENT transmission versus treating infection. By limiting the exposure, we can stop the spread. To limit the exposure, we must take the appropriate precautionary measures, focusing on disinfecting and cleaning our environments.
Currently, the CDC has identified 28 infectious diseases that may be transmitted and/or acquired in healthcare settings, thus are potential hospital-acquired infections. You have heard of many cases in the news lately: MRSA, hepatitis A, B, and C, HIV/AIDs, tuberculosis, meningitis, influenza, etc. All these diseases are extremely dangerous, extremely prevalent, potentially lethal...and all can be avoided if appropriate measures are taken with regard to disinfection!
